Splunk .conf25

I’ve had the privilege of serving as Environmental Creative Director for Splunk’s .conf for the past three years, and this year’s design at the Boston Convention Center was our most ambitious yet. The pavilion transformed into Splunk City, a surreal yet nostalgic urban environment blending architecture, familiarity, and theatrical drama. At its core were five platform demo spaces, defined by Splunk’s vibrant gradient palette used as intuitive wayfinding against a darker, monochromatic cityscape. The experience expanded into theaters inspired by real-world venues, a movie theater, drive-in, amphitheater, and playhouse, alongside oversized street-sign graphics, an arcade, park spaces, retail moments, and communal dining areas. A stadium arena, sponsored by Ticketmaster and the NFL, immersed attendees in a high-energy walkthrough of Splunk’s speed and performance, paired with football-inspired drills and a live leaderboard to gamify engagement. We also built a modern residential demo home and four large networking zones designed for connection, collaboration, and play. The result was a fully immersive world, both recognizable and unexpected and a true testament to the vision and craft of an extraordinary team.
